In August 1940, Frank Carey led No 43 Squadron's 'A' Flight into Schwarms of JU87s, escorted by Bf109s. Though hopelessly outnumbered, Carey accounted for four JU87s before running out of ammunition. Robert Taylor's superb painting captures the trauma of the battle.
